Open-source air-quality monitoring for the UK

We design, supply, install, calibrate and maintain air-quality sensor networks for councils, schools, industry and communities, and we turn accurate data into clear, honest reports. You always own the data, every processing step is open and documented, and there are no annual subscriptions for data access and no ‘black box’ algorithms.

  • Authorised AirGradient reseller
  • Our QA/QC and calibration methods were developed by a team at the University of Cambridge
  • We work in accordance with PAS 4023:2024, the BSI standard for best practice in small sensor technologies

What makes us different

Monitoring you can trust

Open-source hardware

The AirGradient monitors we supply are open-source: hardware, firmware and software. You can inspect how they work, and maintain and repair them yourself if you wish.

No black-box algorithms

We tell you exactly how your data is processed and calibrated. Raw readings are never overwritten, and every reading can be traced back to its source.

You own your data

Your monitoring data belongs to you. We never share it without your permission, we charge nothing to access it, and you can download it at any time.

How it works

From question to evidence

  1. 1. Design

We discuss your project, agree the most appropriate technology, survey potential sites and help design your network.

  2. 2. Install

We can install and commission every monitor, with a documented handover for each site.

  3. 3. Calibrate

We can correct and calibrate the data continuously against reference measurements, and check it on an ongoing basis.

  4. 4. Report

A comprehensive dashboard and map, with valuable insights tailored to your specific needs.

Open data

See what is happening, hour by hour

Every monitor reports to an online dashboard. You can see live readings, trends over days and months, and how your sites compare with health-based guidelines. You can make your data public, or keep it private. The choice is yours.

Many public bodies choose to share their data openly so everyone can learn from it. We encourage this wherever it is appropriate, and we respect it when it is not.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does Air Priori do?

Air Priori provides air-quality monitoring as a managed service across the UK: we design, install, calibrate and maintain networks of low-cost sensors, quality-control the data, and turn it into clear reports and insights.

We also supply AirGradient indoor, outdoor and portable monitors on their own, with setup support, for customers who want to run them themselves. Our monitoring is indicative and decision-support: it complements, and does not replace, statutory reference monitoring.

Who owns the monitoring data?

You do. If you buy and operate monitors from us, you own the data they generate. We process it only to deliver our services, and we never share or publish it without your express permission.

Do I have to pay to access my own data?

No. Access to your data through the online dashboard is included with your monitors, not sold as an extra, and on cellular monitors the SIM and mobile data are included for up to 5 years (after that, a low-cost replacement 5-year data bundle is available). You pay only for optional services you choose, such as installation, calibration, maintenance and reporting.

Who do you work with?

We work with councils, the health service and other public bodies; schools, colleges and universities; construction, port, transport and industrial sites; homes and community groups; and special-interest groups such as sports, athletics and cycling clubs, helping them understand how air pollution affects performance.

Councils use networks to see how air quality varies street by street and to evaluate intervention and mitigation schemes. Schools use indoor CO2 monitors to manage ventilation, and outdoor monitors at the school gate and in the playground. Industrial and construction sites monitor dust at their boundary, and households and community groups monitor the air where they live, work and play.

Can I make my data public?

Yes, and we encourage it wherever it is appropriate. Open data lets everyone learn from it, and many public bodies choose to publish. If publishing is not appropriate for you, we fully respect that and your data stays private.
